He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Thomas and Minerva Agney Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Gay Cruit; his sons, Byron Thomas, Dustin Thomas of Dalton City and Eric Thomas of Bethany; his grandsons, Devn Thomas and Jayden Bowman; and his siblings, Junior Thomas (Joy) of Nashville, Bob Thomas of Shelbyville, Barb Thomas of Shelbyville and Carol Abbott of Mattoon.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at 7:00 PM at the Reed Funeral Home (1112 S Hamilton St, Sullivan, IL 61951). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Bethany or the Dora Township Fire Department.
