She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Elmer Sr. and Alice Morris Ervin; her siblings, Vivian Williams, Fred Ervin Jr., Virgie Nero-Holmes, Gene Ervin, Stanley Ervin and Donnie Ervin; and her son Joe W. Adams Jr. of Danville.
She is survived by: her husband Johnnie "Tip" Steele; her sons, Billy "JD" Hills of Davis and Vincent Steele of Indianapolis, Indiana; and her stepdaughter Kellie Steele of Atlanta, Georgia.. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
