He was predeceased by: his parents, D. C. Dowell and Alberta C. Dowell; and his siblings, Edgar, Richard, James, Ronnie, Michael and Anna Pearl.
He is survived by: his wife Shanae C. Dowell; his children, Cicely M. Knight (Christopher), Asha M. Dowell and Ryan W. Dowell (Patsy); his grandchildren, Jaron M. Cunningham (Lana), Jordan M. Cunningham (Ahmani), Tristan Pratt, Julius Dowell, Anna Dowell, Royce Dowell and Nysa Dowell; his great grandchildren, Imani, Amiyah, Layla, Eleanor, Jayce and Marlowe; his siblings, Allie Mae Cotton, Thomas Dowell and Carolyn Dowell; his grandchildren, Travis Henderson Jason Haskins (Diana), Thomas Rose (Jackay), Martha Adamore Alexis (Addy), Megan Mattingly Markiah (Payton), Tharijah and Thadeson Rose; his nephews, Calvin Dowell, Emil and Aaron Hall; his niece Janelle; and his aunt Lois Hayes (Circuit Court).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 22nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hope Unlimited Church (428 N Walnut St, Danville, IL 61832). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
