Jeffrey John Ewell wrote a sympathy message

“To Dad's friends and family. I didn't know dad as well as you. He was a marine and being a marine was a point of pride. He lived as a marine to his final breath. Honor, Courage, and commitment. He honored his family by helping them to live beyond his death. Jordon and Jason got his guidance on being a man. Now is the time for them to remember to stick together, he stuck with you. Live your best life in honor of him. To his friends, he had the courage and commitment to show up. Love Jeff”
