With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis Michael Askins of Danville, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 28, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Askins and Helen Askins (Bolser); and his siblings, Jocko Askins, Linda, Darlene, Karen and Carmen.
He is survived by: his wife Maureen O'Shaughnessy; his children, Marguerite O'Shaughnessy (Stephen) of Tipperary, Michael Askins (Sylvie) of Milton, MA, Tyke Askins (Renee Mroz) of Danville and Shawn Askins (Amy) of Danville; his grandchildren, Mark O'Brien (Karen), Denis O'Brien (Maria), Gemma O'Brien (Gary Murray), Mikie O'Brien (Aoife McCormack), Joshua Fulton (Ashlee), Katey Ingram (Evan), Nicholas Askins, Sarah Askins, Morgan Langone (Chris) and Chloe Askins; his siblings, Marilyn Hix (Rick) and Bub Askins; and his nephew Butch. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
