He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis L. Mowers and Luticia A. Mowers (Johnson); his sister Joyce Miles; and his parents-in-law, David and Alice Downing.
He is survived by: his daughter Meghan Gerrity (Dustin) of Homer, IL; his sister DeAnna Hall (Ward) of Perrysville, IN; and his pet Dixie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center (3940 N Vermilion St, Danville, IL 61834). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Children's Care Corporation though the Elks or National Veterans Service-Illinois Elks Association.
