He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Woodward and Bessie Lee Poynter (Wolfe); his wife Alice Vera Saunders; his daughters, Cathy Lynn Pennock and Julie Ann Hadley; his son-in-law Michael Hadley; his siblings, Della Poynter, Carroll Poynter, Derow Poynter, Thelma Null, Ruth Dolbee Boecker, Ella Marie Schnorr and Alice Dolbee; and his great grandchild Micah Owen Anderson.
He is survived by: his sons, Gary (Jodi) of Zeeland, MI and Mark (Beth) of Eugene, IN; his grandchildren, Doug Poynter (Katie), Justin Pennock (Erin), Nathan Pennock, Kari Reen (Tony Brown), Amy Anderson (Derek), Kevin Hadley (Hannah), Taylor Skellie (Katie) and Sydney Thomason (Scott); and his sisters, Delores Green and Ardith "Patty" Goodwin (Dick). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
