He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Carrell and Elenora "Lenora" Carrell (Snell); his children, Mary Carrell, David Paul Carrell and Gary Carrell; his stepdaughter Melissa Eldridge; and his siblings, Edwin Carrell, Charlotte Wilson and Paul Carrell.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Jean Carrell of Danville, IL; his daughters, Pamela Nichols of Tilton, IL and Marcy Carrell of Georgetown, IL; his stepson Brad King of Danville, IL; his grandchildren, Steven Carrell (Kimberly), Stephanie Donithan, Maranda Legg, Matt Carrell (Lauren), Clinton Weir, Chrystal Carrell, Elizabeth Cannon (Bill) and Dean Fegett (Bailea); his stepgrandchildren, Dylan King, Lyndsey Eldridge and Carter Eldridge; his siblings, David Carrell of Springfield, IL and Shirley Hanley of Panama City, FL; and his daughter-in-law Teresa Jones. He is also survived by thirty-two great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Howard's memory to the First Church of the Nazarene in Danville, IL.
