He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Mitchell and Gladys Mitchell (Webber); his sisters, Wanda Hamer and Faye Bates; his grandson Tyler Brennan; and his uncle Leon Webber.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Mitchell of Danville; his children, Troy Mitchell (Lisa) of Danville, IL, Lance Mitchell (Teri) of Danville, IL and Tina Brennan (Rob) of Danville, IL; and his siblings, Terry Mitchell (Kim) of Alvin, IL and Carolyn Jones (Don) of Tilton, IL. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Alzheimer's Association.
