James Edward Dokey Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edward Dokey of Danville, Illinois, who passed away on January 10, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dokey and Vivian Moore Dokey; and his siblings, Jean Tatar (George), Carol Lappin (Grover) and Richard Dokey.

He is survived by: his children, Lisa Miller (Chuck) of Danville, Mike Dokey (Missy) of Indianola and Jimmy Dokey (Cindy) of Tilton; his grandchildren, Victoria Courtney (Nelson), Sydnee Black, Matthew Miller (Megan), Macey Dokey (Todd), Drake Dokey (Gina), Lucas Miller (Summer) and Trinity Dokey; his great grandchildren, Rylee, Knox, Austyn, Aubree, Miles, Hudson and Amelia; his brother Fred Dokey (Sue); and his close friend John Brown (Betty). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter and/or United Church of Tilton.
