He was predeceased by: his parents, William Kenneth and Mary Elizabeth Kennedy (Cushing); his sister Judy Fannin; and his grandson Christopher Kurek. He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Ruckman of Dixon, IL and Kenneth E. Kennedy (Barb Moss) of Dixon; his stepchildren, Kelly Erke of Danville, Debora Tovey of Westville and Stephen Tovey (Gail) of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Melinda Poff (Cory), Katie Shaw (Keegan), Chase Robinson (Amy), Chelsey Robinson, Casey Robinson, Joshua Witherspoon (Stephanie), Nathan Tovey (Beth), Stephen Tovey (Kari), Aaron Tovey and Caleb Tovey; and his close friend Jerry Runyon. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center (3940 N Vermilion St, Danville, IL 61834). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
