He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gale and Leatha Gale (Taylor); his daughter Karen Kuntz (Robert); and his siblings, Carl Gale (Lena), Marjorie Sanders (Wilbert) and Mary Lou Meadows (Robert).

He is survived by: his wife Janet A. Gale (Fritts); his sons, Mark Gale (Brenda) of Danville, IL, Randy Gale (Deanna) of Woodstock, GA and Steven Gale (Julie) of Titusville, FL; his grandchildren, Joshua Gale, Brock Gale (Alexandra), Elizabeth Combs (Tommy), Angela Koester (Klay), Grant Gale and Zackary Gale; and his great grandchildren, Katharina Gale, Zechariah Gale, Ainsley Combs, Asher Combs and David Gale.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made in Jerry's name to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Danville, IL.
