She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Gebhart and Ocie Gebhart (Taylor); her husband Tommy Axtell; her son George Axtell; her granddaughter Emma Grace; her great grandchild Isaiah; and her sisters, Linda, Fauniel and Ruth Purple.

She is survived by: her children, Steve Axtell, Joetta Hathaway (Gabe), Brent Axtell (Amy) and Cary Jones (Walter); her grandchildren, Erica Wright (Jason), Brant Hathaway (Taylor), Eliza Porter (David), Derryn Axtell (Carol), Paxton Axtell, Deakin Axtell, Walter Jones Jr., Joseph Jones (Chelsey) and Benjamin Jones; her great grandchildren, Makaylee (Rodney), Gabriel, Thomas, Andrew, Brantley, Camille, Georgia, Jenny, Conrad, Corbin, Emma and Emery; her sister Marilyn Whittington; her sisters-in-law, Peggy Yoho and Carma Axtell; and her friend Loretta Juvinal. She is also survived by cousins; many nieces and nephews, as well as her church family.
