He is survived by: his siblings, Juanita Mosby, James Reed, Gene Reed, Katie Davis, Edward Reed (Dorthea), Viola Bankhead, Curtis Reed (Eva), David Reed, Debra Cummings, Don Reed, Rose Reed, Della Newsome, Gloria Newsome and Laverne Newsome; his children, Bennet Eiremann (Kim) of Urbana, Michael Butler of Champaign, Joseph Reed Jr. of Champaign, Laguanna Reed of California, Joseeka Reed (Luke) of Texas and Tracey Atkins of Atlanta, Georgia.; his grandchildren, Marcus, Carloshia, Tianna, Michelle, Haneef, Jaylen, JaZae, Jayla, JuLani, Josiah, Taraji, Tavaris, Sariah, Damien, Takeya, Michael and Xahlani; and his close friends, Semeko Ford, Cedric Bell and Debra Waters. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
