He is survived by: his close friend Brenda Shaw; his children, Tiffany Shaw-Crosby (Mario) of East, Jason Shaw Champaign and Alben Carter of Rantoul, IL; his siblings, Sylvia Grear, Verna Plummer (Ernest), Timothy Carter (Tasha) of Danville, IL. and Sherman Hocketta of Danville, IL.; his grandchildren, Demetrious "Meechie Man" Groves, Marnajha Crosby, Taniya Poke, Lakiya Williams, Kassidy Shaw, Edward Duckworth Jr. and Ed'lisiya Duckworth; his uncle Dwight Lucas; his cousin Erica Echols Martin; and his aunts and uncles, Audrey Lucas, Joyce Smith, Kay Carter, Jack Carter and George Carter.
