With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Starla Joy Wright of Danville, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 26, 2025 at the age of 74. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Starla Joy Wright to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Pentecost and Margaret Pentecost (Nance); and her brother William Pentecost. She is survived by: her husband Thomas Wright of Danville, IL; her daughters, Rachel Powell (Kevin) of Tilton, IL and Rebekah Wright (Jason Krumholz) of Champaign, IL; her grandchildren, Austin Wright, Evan Boggs and Garret Wright; and her sister Bekie Cronkhite (Leland) of Alabama.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center (3940 N Vermilion St, Danville, IL 61834). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Danville National Cemetery (1900 E Main St, Danville, IL 61832).
Memorials may be made in Starla's memory to Hope Unlimited Church or the Mills Breast Cancer Institute.
