She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Louis and Evelyn Kathaleen Taylor (Sowers); her husband Charles "Chuck" F. Smith; and her siblings, Howard Taylor, Allen Taylor, Audra Taylor and Deborah Taylor.
She is survived by: her daughter Susan Hall (Michael Tenerio) of Danville, IL; and her grandchildren, Amber Rodgers (Jeff), Elizabeth Sams and Charles Hall (Brittany). She is also survived by 10 great- grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Valarie's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
