He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Charles and Luella Unekis (Rhodenbaugh); his children, Donna Kathleen McKinney and Michael Unekis; and his siblings, Sondra Wabel, Robert "Bob" Unekis and Tom Unekis.
He is survived by: his daughter Baylee Carter (Zach) of Covington, IN; his grandchildren, Lauren McKinney, Daniel McKinney of Danville, Michael Emory and Ryan Emory of Tilton; and his brother John Unekis of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center (3940 N Vermilion St, Danville, IL 61834). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
