He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Phelps and Lottie Phelps; and his siblings, Travis, Jerry Phelps, Glenda Martin, Peggy Hicks, Henrietta Phelps and Cherrietta Woolever.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Phelps; and his siblings, Kathy Jolly, Sue Gribble (Mike), Sandy Williams (Steve), E. A. Phelps and Tony Phelps. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Murphysboro Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
