He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Stain and Helen Stain (Blythe); his wife Jan; his son Timothy David Stain; his siblings, Bill Stain, Dean Stain and Florence Walters; and his close friend Larry Wetherholt.
He is survived by: his daughter Amy Patrick of Decatur; his sisters, Dee Elson and Joyce Bennett (Dale); his grandchildren, Kelley Sean Patrick (Judi) and Killian Arlene Patrick-Rueff (Cody); his great grandchildren, Elowyn, Evander and Carter; and his friend Lisa Holloway. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
