He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy A. Clarkson and Thelma L. Clarkson; his former wife Betty Louise Nelson; his wife Shirley; his son Wayne Clarkson of Cerro Gordo, IL.; his grandchildren, Andrew Clarkson (Jessica) of Oakley, IL., Jason Clarkson (Kelsey) of East Peoria, IL., Brad Clarkson of Glen Carbon, IL., Nancy Clarkson of Silver Springs, Timothy Clarkson of Springfield, IL. and Nicole Ortiz (Daniel) of Ft. Lewis; his stepchildren, Mary Jo Bishop (Billy), Diane Sills (Tim) and Mike Christison (Missy); and his brother Lyle Clarkson. He is also survived by thirteen step-grandchildren and twenty-six step-great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the American Legion Post 117.
Memorials may be made in Carrol's honor to the Cerro Gordo American Legion Post 117.
