We announce the death of Cindy Lea Jones in Decatur, Illinois, who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 73. Cindy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dannie Eugene Meece and Sarah Eileen Young Meece; and her brother Allan Meece. She is survived by: her husband Terry Jones; her children, Shannon Batson (Monte), Jody Jones (Nick Parks), Samantha Newingham (Jason), Sara Dillman (Shawn) and Scarlett Jones (Gailan Leeds); her sisters, Jeanine Hunter and Cherri Overlin (Lynn); her grandchildren, Alexis, Jason Jr. "Bubba", Haiden, Cora, Emery, Paige, Dezarah, Dominic, Nixon, Weston, Jaxton and Landon; her great grandchild Natalie; and her pet Popeye.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home (2801 N Monroe St, Decatur, IL 62526).
