It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrell Gene Kondritz (Decatur, Illinois), who passed away on May 23, 2020, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Kondritz and Mary Kondritz (Burns); and his brother Roger Kondritz. He is survived by: his brother Daniel Kondritz (Rosemary); his nieces, Scarlett Cook (Chris), Ashley Sierra (Tom) and Elizabeth Kondritz; and his great-nephews, Eli Cook, Dylan Sierra and Parker Sierra.

“Darrell has been my friend for 20 years. Much of that was long distance, from Charlotte to Decatur. There were times we went a year or so without contact and then his name would pop up in a text or email. That never failed to make me smile and sometimes even brought tears of relief that he was ok. I am so sad at his death and the loss of that relationship. I already miss his laughter and quirky thought process and our long wandering phone calls. Much love, my friend. Susan Cox”
