David Hicks Obituary
David Hicks, 72, passed away at his residence on August 10, 2020 surrounded by his loving family and friends.
David was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on June 27, 1948 to Willie Hicks and Florence Ella (Ludy) Hicks.
David moved to Decatur, IL when he was a child at the age of 3. He went to high school until he was called to work at an early age. David was employed at Wagner Casting Co in 1969, as a iron pourer until his retirement in 2006. He then worked at Sherwin-Williams after retirement, until 2017.
David accepted Christ at a young age and loved to attend church. He loved motorcycles and was a member of the "Unknown Riders" bikers club, where he was once a captain. He was also involved in the Turtle Organization in 2016. David was artistic when dealing with arts and craft and painting. He had a creative mind and could building things out of different materials. He also had a passion for fishing, hunting, and helping others. David was a one of a kind man and will be dearly missed by many.
David leaves to cherish his memories of his children; Winona Webb of Jackson, TN, Oletha Hicks of Chicago, Brian Cunningham of Decatur, and LaTabra (Courtney) Marshall of Little Rock, AK; Siblings; Katty Apple, James L. Hicks, Fred Lowe, and Clyde Hicks. He also leaves his special memories of his companion, Patricia Milan and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Tommy Willis, Roosevelt Hicks, Willie Hicks Jr. and Charles Lowe.
