David Neilson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Neilson of Decatur, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 29, 2025 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Neilson (Dorothy) and Suzanna Neilson; and his brothers, Larry Bogart and Christopher Neilson. He is survived by: his wife Emma (Jeannie) of Decatur; his children, Tim Emberton (Crystal) of Decatur, Billy Simpson of Decatur, Kathy Simpson of Decatur and Diana Stanley of Elkhorn; his grandchildren, Christopher, Hazel Emberton, Bryce, Joseph Muyus, Dustin Simpson, Kassy McClure (Austin), Jay McDaniel, Katrina McDaniel, Blake Stanley (Danielle), Brady Stanley, Bria Stanley and Bryant Stanley; his great grandchild Kai McClure; and his sisters, Barbara Salmons (Dwane), Diane Tilton (Dennis) and Debra Winter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the West Decatur Church of God (4500 W Main St, Decatur, IL 62522). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
