With profound sadness, we say goodbye to David Lee Shepherd of Decatur, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. David left this world on October 23, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Shepherd and Hazel Shepherd; his daughter Debbie Shepherd; and his brother Bob Shepherd. He is survived by: his wife Delores; his children, Duane Shepherd (Michelle) of Decatur and Deanna Rhodes (Larry) of Decatur; his siblings, Jerry Shepherd and Juanita Dale; his grandchildren, Mary Walker (Adam), Andrea West (Ben) and Matthew Rhodes (Kelly); and his great grandchildren, Allison, William and Thomas Rhodes.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Salem Baptist Church (2650 Taylorville Rd, Decatur, IL 62521). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at the Graceland Cemetery (2901 N Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL 62526).
