He was predeceased by: his son Justin Redmon; his siblings, Leon Ragsdale Sr., Natalie Ragsdale and Julie Day (Rachel); his nephew Ray A. Neal Sr.; and his close friend Bonnie Jean Lewis.

He is survived by: his nephews, Kevin, Kylon, Lil Leon and Bryan; his niece Rachel (Dede); his grandchildren, Donald L. Redmon Jr. (Doogie) and Justice Redmon; his children, Donald L. Redmon Sr., Derrick Redmon, Shane Lee, Desiree Fuller and Cristy Rice; his stepdaughters, Angie Walker and Lazenia Wadley; his siblings, Wendell Ragsdale and Zelma Coleman (Jesse Sr.); and his nephew Deondre Halliburton (Tim Henry) of Decatur. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
