He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar, Sr. Cassell and Katie Cassell (Spillman); his wife Thelma Lowe of Virginia; his stepson Jack Mendenall; his grandson Todd Mendenall; and his siblings, William Cassell, Mary Kopetz, Beulah Wiedner, Audrey McCannon, George Cassell and Margaret May.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Wilson (Gary) of Galesburg and Bruce Cassell (Debbie) of Decatur; and his grandchildren, Christina Ogan (Charles) of Warrenville, Michael Wilson (Amber Cecil) of Galesburg, Brian Cassell (Amy) of Maryville, TN, Blake Cassell (Krystle) of Decatur, Katie Cassell of Decatur and Toby Mendenall of Florida. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
