He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his sons, Brett Garver of Auburn, WA and Shane Garver (Amber) of Decatur; his grandchildren, Sara McCleary (Jonah), Jordyn Gronewold (Aaron), Peyton Garver, Paige Garver and Corbin Garver; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Luke and Sophia Gronewold; and his siblings, Larry Garver and Judy Anderson.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 at the Central Christian Church (650 W William St, Decatur, IL 62522).

Memorials in Gene's honor may be made to Central Christian Church.
