It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene A. Velchek of Decatur, Illinois, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on August 7, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew E. Sr. Velchek and Alice Velchek (Phillips); his son Todd; and his siblings, Mary Lou, Elizabeth, David, Andrew, William and Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Dina Jean Damery of Decatur; and his children, Stephanie McCaslin (Mike) of Arkansas, Caprice Turano (Tim) of Maryland, Jonathan Velchek (Megan) of Mahomet, Daniel Noland (Angel) of Macon, Darcy Nestler (Scott) of Effingham, Madison Velchek (McKenna) of Indiana, MaKenzee and Martin Velchek of Decatur.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or Ss.
