With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janet Skelley of Decatur, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 23, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward M. Brooks and I. Marie Brooks (Choate); and her siblings, Arthur Ray Brooks and Janice Haney. She is survived by: her husband Tom Skelley; her daughters, Kimberly S. Salvador of Los Angeles, CA, Stephanie Holden (Marc) of Bradenton, FL, Dawn Michelle Wong of Bradenton, FL and Leslie Nuzzo (Jerry) of Sullivan, IL; her grandchildren, Thomas Wong, Brandon Wong, Breanna Nielsen, Gabriella Whitcomb, Jonah Mallick, Elijah Holden, Carlin Shumard, Cadisen Boyer, Jadon Nuzzo, Sofia Nuzzo and Landon Nuzzo; her great grandchildren, Jillian Wong, Noah Nielsen, Rowan Whitcomb, Canaan Whitcomb, Holden Whitcomb, Ellie Boyer and Darcie Boyer; and her siblings, Donnie Brooks (Sandy) and Linda Young.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the South Shores Christian Church (130 Bristol Dr, Decatur, IL 62521). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials in Janet's honor may be made to South Shores Christian Church.

I didn't find out about Aunt Janet until this morning and just received the information regarding the services or I would have been there to share my love & help remind you of all the lives Aunt Janet touched. Girls, it is hard to lose a mother, just know that she is with you always.
