With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joanne Hantel (Decatur, Illinois), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Joanne left this world on September 7, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her grandmother Jody; her parents, Frank Sparks and Caroline Sparks; her siblings, Richard Franklin Sparks and Jeanne Shanks; and her grandson Joshua Dalton Overton.

She is survived by: her daughters, Heidi Overton (Don) and Gretchen Wuebben (Dave); her grandsons, Sky and Grey Overton; her stepgrandson Tim Wuebben (Kelsey Bell); her sister-in-law Dee Ommodt; and her close friends, Marilyn Welch, Carolyn Butler, Jean Aberle and Norma Kramer. She is also survived by many Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (204 W Prairie Ave, Decatur, IL 62523). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Decatur Il (204 W Prairie Ave, Decatur, IL 62523).
