He is survived by: his wife Carleen Hightower; his children, Patricia Winfrey (Darnell), Belinda Turner, Johnny H. Garner Jr. (Vonda), James F. Garner, Erika Hawkins and Lastachia E. Garner; and his brother Kenneth Garner (Annie). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
