He is survived by: his wife Karen Wade of Decatur; his sons, Harrison Wade (Christine) of Minneapolis, MN and Preston (Iliamar); his grandchildren, Lukas Cushing and Kristian Wade; and his siblings, Gary Wade (Diana) of Herrin, IL, Karen Peters (Karl) of California and John Wade of Tupelo, MS..

“The friends that Larry made through the years he volunteered as a board member of the Old-time Music Preservation Association, Inc., (OMPA) which held the World Championship Old-time Piano Playing Contest at the Holiday Inn for many years beginning in 1987, will remember him forever. Larry also judged the contest several times, also competing in its Senior Division for his last time in 2025 at the contest's new venue, the University of Mississippi's (Ole Miss) Music Department in Oxford MS.”
