Maxine Gillum Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maxine Gillum of Decatur, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 10, 2026 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Maxine shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Maxine farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Edward and Imogene Jones (Irwin); and her husband James Gillum. She is survived by: her children, Rick Gillum (Linda) of Decatur, James Gillum (Sheila) of Hattiesburg, MS, Debra Sigfried (Terry) of Decatur, Kimberly Black (Randy) of Decatur and Kay Lappin (Max) of Harristown. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great- grandchildren.
