He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Newland and Helen Newland (Williams); his mother-in-law Kendra Otwell; his wife Kendra Newland of Forsyth; his grandsons, Cody and Karl; his brother Brad; his sister-in-law Janet; his nephews, Eric (Jamie) and Brian (Amber); his great-nieces, Molly and Morgan; his great-nephew Ethan; his siblings-in-law, Keith of Belleville and Karen Parkinson of Glen Ellyn; his nephew Jerry (Kathy) of Chicago; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Carly, Zoe, Sarah, Natt, Annabel, Daisy, Parker and Jeremiah.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Michael's honor may be made to Forsyth United Methodist Church.
