He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Johnson and Ora Lee Johnson; his brothers, Lennie Johnson, Johnnie Johnson and Robert Johnson; his brothers-in-law, John Clemmons, L. C. Richardson and Freddie Joyner; his grandmother Salonia Williams; and his close friend Wilbert Blue.
He is survived by: his siblings, Virgie Clemmons, Flossie Richardson, Dorthy Joyner, Betty Jean Johnson and Rev. William Johnson (Melva); his children, Maurice Johnson of Decatur and Chris Johnson (Ada) of Hanover, MD; his grandchildren, Durames Johnson and Danielle Brown; and his great grandchildren, Catherine, Luella and Laverie of West Memphis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church (1720 W Hunt St, Decatur, IL 62526). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. An entombment will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at the Graceland Cemetery (2091 N Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL 62526).
