He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Nicholls and Dorothy Nicholls (Mott); his wife Anna Jean; and his siblings, Tom Nicholls and Debbie West.
He is survived by: his children, Lise Helmuth (Ezra) of Arthur, IL, Rodney Nicholls (Grace) of Teaneck, NJ, Kelly Benton of North Port, FL and Krista Clark (Craig) of Springfield, IL; and his grandchildren, Josh Helmuth (Johanna), Kieli Nicholls, Caitlyn Nicholls, Shelby Smull, Sean Smull, Rikki Smull, Noah Benton and Brandon Clark. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Richard's honor may be made to Morningside Church of Christ or a charity of your choice.
