He was predeceased by: his parents, Bradford Bean and Bernice Bean (Aldridge); his wife Patricia Alderson; his son Butch Bean; his daughter-in-law Debbie Bean; and his granddaughter Stacey Shelton Watts.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Shelton (Lynn), Rick Bean and Denny Bean (Tery); his grandchildren, Kelsey Kilpatrick (Justin), Haylea Odom (Cameron) and Matthew Bean; his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Shelton, Landyn, Logan Kilpatrick, Porter Odom, Rucker and Hadie Bean; and his great great grandchild Beckham Shelton (Phylis Kunzeman).
