He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Kater and Hazel Kater; and his sister Ann Buchanan. He is survived by: his wife Mae Kater; his children, Gregory Kater (Leslie) of Sherman and Shari Rawlings (Jeff) of Cerro Gordo; his grandchildren, Brian Kater, Bethany Richardson and Mandie Stemple; and his brother Ed Kater. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
