With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Duane Long of Decatur, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 11, 2025 at the age of 83. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Robert Duane Long to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Long and Gladys Long (Baldwin); and his sister Donna Frink. He is survived by: his wife Karen Mize; his children, Laurie Lyon (Jeffrey) of Decatur and Greg Long (Cindy) of Decatur; and his grandchildren, Michael Long (Andrea), Jonathan Lyon, Amanda Pease (Adam), Michelle Schnetzler (Frank), John T. Shepherd (Bryanda) and Devin Bales (Ricky). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Central Baptist Church (1275 Mt Gilead Rd, Decatur, IL 62521). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery.
