She was predeceased by: her parents, Dugan Melvin and Eunice Opal Tompkins (Murray); her husband Billy Albert Schmid; her sister Ann Goodin (Tompkins); her brother-in-law Gene; her nephew Dr. Gary Goodin; and her parents-in-law, Edward Albert and Mildred Marie Schmid (Albert).
She is survived by: her children, Joni Sue Brinkman (Paul) of Atlantis, FL, Julie Anne Hall (Mike) of Warrensburg and Randall William Schmid (Aurélie) of Winchester, VA; her grandchildren, Paul Brinkman, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Jessica Brinkman of Jacksonville, FL, Evan Hall (Ashlie) of Warrensburg, Dugan Schmid (Haley) of Middleway, WV, William Schmid (Dané) of The Bronx, NY and Anthony Schmid of Winchester, VA; her great grandchildren, Henry Ray Hall, Heath Schmid, Jude and Harper Schmid; her niece Kristi Hickey (Kerwin) of Kirkwood, MO; her cousin Betsy Spearman (Danny) of Bonita Springs, FL; and her siblings-in-law, David Schmid (Sandy) of Ephrata, PA, Michael Schmid of Decatur, Eddie Schmid of Shobonier, Carol Tribble (Rick) of Taylorville, Judy Welch of St. Louis, MO and Mary Schultz (Jim) of St. Elmo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home - Decatur (2827 N Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL 62526). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Taylor Cemetery.
