He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Henry Estell and Maxine Estell (Schuman) of Decatur; his significant other Myra Sharp of Decatur; his significant other's daughter Tammy Day (Terry) of Springfield, IL; his brother Steve Estell (Marcia) of Decatur; his grandchildren, Jeuliyan Koehler, Rylan Bender and Andrew Day; and his daughters, Jeseca Estell and Mickenzie Bender.

Memorials may be made in Tom's memory to the Macon County Honor Guard.
