With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William D. Barnes of Decatur, Illinois, who passed away on December 12, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barnes and Margaret Barnes (Albers); and his siblings, Mary Highley, Bob Barnes, Delores Hauck (Ruth), Barb Mansfield, Beverly Carter, Phyllis Younker, Nancy Brennan, Diane Smith and Patricia Blankenship.
He is survived by: his children, Glenna Marie English, Leslie Jayne West (David), Rhonda Kay Hott (Jeff) and William David Barnes, Jr. (Luann); his wife Minnie Strahle; and his brothers, Jack, Rick, Kent and Ron. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials to West Decatur Church of God and First Christian Church of Decatur are requested in lieu of flowers.
