He was predeceased by: his parents, William P. Sheppard and Anne Sheppard (Kindred); his brother Daniel Sheppard; his siblings-in-law, Patricia Sheppard and Bill Bromley; his stepmother Alice Roloff (Brave); and his stepsisters, Judy Schultheis (Donald) and Susan Dunne (Mike).
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Emerick of Brimfield; his children, Leslie Sheppard of Decatur, William J. Sheppard (Trish) of Emmitsburg, Robert Sheppard (Amy) of Downers Grove and Brian Sheppard (Jeff) of Decatur; his siblings, Patricia Bromley and David Sheppard (Melissa); and his grandchildren, Matthew Sheppard, Ryan Sheppard and Chloe Sheppard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins.
