With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin Nelson of Deerfield, Illinois, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on April 6, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandson Michael Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Nelson; and his children, Lori Good (Robert), Robert Nelson (Wendi) and Lawrence Nelson (Marylou). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Donations in Mel's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to his heart.
