It is with sadness that the passing of Jay Ward of DeKalb, Illinois is shared. Jay, born on August 10, 1929, passed away on October 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Norva Ward and Olive Ward (Stromberg); his wife Betty Marie O'Brien; his son Mark; his sister Patricia Reid; his brothers-in-law, Tully Reid, Jerry Bemis and Jack Holloway; and his granddaughter Amy.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Mayronne (Mark), Craig Ward (Beth) and David Ward (Dana); his grandchildren, Jennifer Chutorash (Eric), Sara Mayronne, Laura Rodriguez (Ryan), Veronica Almdale (Brian), Margaret Hartley (Jack), Cally Ward, Taryn Graham (Jordan) and Kyle Ward; and his siblings, Jim Ward (Pat), John Ward (Deb), Sue Bemis and Sandi Holloway.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home (2011 S 4th St, DeKalb, IL 60115). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Alzheimer's Association or DeKalb First United Methodist Church in memory of Jay Ward, in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, Illinois 60115.
