It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John D. Schaeffer of DeKalb, Illinois, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his sister Diana Adorjan; and his parents, John Schaeffer of St. Louis and Josephine Schaeffer of St. Louis. He is survived by: his wife Laura Bird; his children, Lucy G'Fellers (Christopher) and John Thomas Schaeffer (Dalmy Bolivar); and his grandchildren, Lila, Wallace G'Fellers and Maximino Schaeffer.
