He was predeceased by: his parents, William Docherty and Ethel Docherty; and his grandmother Elizabeth Gaffney Chrystal. He is survived by: his former spouse Kaye Louise Rombout; his wife Jan Docherty; his children, David Docherty (Susan), Teresa Woods (Kevin), Kathy Callaghan (Kevin) and Daniel Docherty (Jen); his grandchildren, Courtney Sutherland (Amos), Philip Docherty (Miracle), Aaron Docherty, George Michael McFadden (Mikayla), Nicole Renee McFadden, Matthew David McFadden (Annie), Jacquelyn Kaye Lawrence (Dave), Bryant William Callaghan, Rohan Patrick Callaghan, Dylan Thomas Callaghan, Lauren Rose Docherty, Krista Cobb, Anna Elloise Docherty and Margaret "Maggie" Docherty (Scott Chesser); and his sister-in-law Joyce Serafin (Jim).
