It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merle Louise Sawyer of DeKalb, Illinois, born in Waterman, Illinois, who passed away on May 7, 2023, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Matthew and Laura Clara Weiherman (Kopfer); and her husband Harrison Sawyer. She is survived by: her family Merle; her children, Mark Sawyer (Denise) of DeKalb, Candace Caddick (Roy) of Redhill and England; and her grandchildren, Heather, Philippa Caddick, Emma, Preston, Claire Sawyer, Kathryn and Owen Sawyer.
